Editorial Standards & Transparency
At Britain Connected, we're committed to transparency and accountability. Here's how we work.
Our Editorial Values
Balance
We present multiple perspectives fairly. Our centre-right and centre-left editors collaborate to ensure political coverage is impartial and represents legitimate viewpoints across the spectrum.
Accuracy
We fact-check claims, cite reliable sources, and correct errors promptly. If we get something wrong, we own it and fix it.
Independence
Britain Connected is independent from any political party. We serve the public and communities — not partisan interests.
How We Select Stories
-
Public Interest First
We prioritise stories that affect UK communities: local issues, policy impacts, charitable work, and genuine human stories. We avoid clickbait and divisive sensationalism.
-
Cross-Political Review
Political stories are reviewed by editors from both the centre-right and centre-left to ensure fair representation and balanced framing.
-
Source Verification
We use reliable sources: official statistics, peer-reviewed research, established news outlets, and direct interviews. We avoid unverified claims and conspiracy theories.
-
Transparency
We disclose our sources, methodologies, and limitations. If data is incomplete or contested, we say so.
-
Community Voice
We actively seek stories from UK citizens and communities. Public submissions are welcomed and considered carefully.
Handling Corrections & Complaints
Correction Policy
If we publish inaccurate information, we correct it promptly and clearly. Corrections are noted in video descriptions or pinned comments on YouTube, never hidden.
Complaint Process
Have a concern about our coverage? Contact us at reports@britainconnected.uk. We review all complaints within 72 hours.
Right of Reply
If we cover a story that involves individuals or organisations, we offer them the opportunity to respond or provide context before publication.
